The Whistlebinkies

A long established Scottish traditional music ensemble featuring bellows bagpipes, harp, fiddles, concertina, viola, drums and double bass. The tracks included here are an archive of live recordings and material from special one-off projects from the mid 1970s to the present day. Several are compositions of the group’s flute player Eddie McGuire. Other works by Eddie are being archived on raretunes.

A raretunes.org recording is used to great effect in this short, timelapse view of the 2010 Tartan Day parade in Aberdeen as it passes down the east end of Union Street by the historic Castlegate. It was a really overcast day but waves of sunlight licked the granite as the parade passed along. The rain broke once the parade was over. By Adam Proctor of http://www.fortsunlight.co.uk/:
