Edward MacHugh

A Dundee born gospel singer who found fame in broadcasting in the United States. Many thanks to Mark Thomson for introducing us to this important singer.

“Edward MacHugh was born in Scotland and came to the USA when he was 17. He lived in Conneticut in a Dutch colonial home with eight acres. He raised poultry and liked to be called “Farmer.” He started on radio in 1927 at a Boston radio station and became a major radio star across the USA. His? fans referred to him simply as ,“The Gospel Singer.” “
