“Edward MacHugh was born in Scotland and came to the USA when he was 17. He lived in Conneticut in a Dutch colonial home with eight acres. He raised poultry and liked to be called “Farmer.” He started on radio in 1927 at a Boston radio station and became a major radio star across the USA. His? fans referred to him simply as ,“The Gospel Singer.” “
