Andrew (Andy) MacDonald

Andrew, (Andy) MacDonald has been a stalwart of the Highland Folk Music scene for many years. He is as well known for bringing talented people to the scene and organising work for travelling troubadours as for his own singing. For many of the early years Andrew booked the performers for the now legendary Market Bar, often singing there gratis to accumulate the funds to bring guests to the bar. Many, various, and often famous names appeared. He was a regular floor singer at the former Inverness Folk Song Club. He also served several seasons on stage in the outdoor summer production “The Kilt is Our Delight,” donning Highland Dress and with piano accompaniment for the delectation of the tourists. He has been a life-long campaigner for a Sovereign Scotland and his repertory largely reflects this.
